Paz.

En la comunidad!

Since starting Tapestry a little more than two years ago, we have come up with what our mission and ministry are about.

People talk about building bridges all the time. That’s good, but we need to cross them, too. And this is what we have been doing, one step at a time since we began. We do this with music, food and education.

We’re not a big community, but we are a people of God who have been transformed in our relationships with each other and with our neighbors. We have impacted our very white church in small but important ways. We have impacted our neighborhood in bigger ways, not because of our good works, but because the Spirit has sent us out to share Jesus’ love with our neighbor.

For us this has meant worshiping every week and sharing music~in Spanish and English, prayer, the Table, the Word and fellowship. It has meant sharing conversations over the dinner table as we eat together after every worship service. We are not big, but we are revolutionary. We’re not perfect, by any means, but we’re working on this every day, little by little.

We acknowledge all the things that divide us. They are many. And we believe that we are one in Christ. We welcome all people, the immigrant~whatever his or her status. We welcome people from the LGBTQ community. We welcome people with active addictions or on the road to recovery. We welcome those living in poverty. We welcome those who are losing or who have lost their home. And we welcome all of these people through loving and accepting relationships that we build one small step at a time.

I hope you will join us when we begin worship again on Sunday, February 5th as we continue our small, Spirit-led, impactful revolution. It is transformational.

Peace.
